Glade Cave - 7/12/2023

Harriet Flynn reporting

We had a fantastic Glade Cave trip this past Wednesday, July 12.

11 of us (including Eric, Harriet +2, Bang, Nora, David +2, Murphy +1) met up outside the cave at 6:30pm.

We headed into the cave at about 6:45, spent some time learning some basic cave info and checked out the map. Then we were off to the commando crawl and a few other fun crawling spaces. We hit the commando crawl again on the way back and did it a second time but this time with our headlamps off.

Next we headed towards the middleish part of the cave. Everyone did a great job using the ropes and ladder to get us back to the next squeeze. After a group photo opportunity we squeezed our way through to the next section, did a loop, and then headed back towards the exit just as it was getting pretty dark outside.

In total we were underground for 2.5 hours and it was nice and muddy. Everyone, including new cavers, enjoyed their time and plan on coming on another trip soon!

We had 5 new cavers on this trip.
